117th Remembers Fallen Airman
Maj. Michael Adams from the 106th Air Refueling Squadron lays a wreath on the grave of Pete Ray at the Forest Hills Cemetery in Birmingham Alabama April 19, 2017. Pete Ray, Leo Baker, Wade Gray and Riley Shamburger from the Alabama Air National Guard were shot down on April 19,1961 while flying B-26 bombers during the Bay of Pigs invasion. The Bay of Pigs was a Central Intelligence Agency mission. It was intended to use Cuban exiles to invade the island of Cuba and start a revolution against Fidel Castro.
