Museum Preserves Air Refueling Wing History Published April 23, 2015 By Senior Master Sgt. Ken Johnson 117th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs BIRMINGHAM, Ala -- The 117th Air Refueling Wing is preserving history as past and present guardsmen work with the local flight museum here. The group will preserve, duplicate and log hundreds of old photographs and artifacts. Col. Scott Grant, the 117 ARW Vice Commander, contacted Dr. Brian J. Barsanti, Executive Director & Historian with the Southern Museum of Flight, for advice and assistance on the project. Grant realized how much the unit has transformed and saw the importance of organizing and maintaining its historical records.
