Staff Sgt. Cierra Swift and her husband Senior Airman Thomas Swift rendered aid to an automobile crash victim while on their way to work here on May 15.

The Swifts, members of the 117th Air Refueling Wing, approached two vehicles that appeared to have crashed head on.

"Upon exiting my vehicle we found an approximately thirty-year-old male driver who was ambulatory, but the individual was stumbling and was in severe pain. The male driver from the second vehicle did not appear to be injured, and had already contacted first responders," said Thomas.

Moments later, Lt. Col. Robert Shelton, 99th Air Refueling Squadron Commander, stopped to assist.

Shelton and the Swifts helped calm the victim and applied minor medical aid until first responders arrived on the scene.
