Deployment Processing Center Published July 11, 2011 By 2nd Lt. Jonathan Russell 117 ARW/PA 117th AIR REFUELING WING, Birmingham, Ala. -- On July 7 the 117th Logistics Readiness Squadron personnel began moving into the new 8,000 square feet deployment processing center on base. The facility is one of the first of its kind in the Air National Guard and was completed by Cooley Construction from Oklahoma. The deployment processing center will reduce the amount of time required to process deploying personnel in a one stop shop. It has everything necessary to function as a small air terminal and will accommodate approximately 160 passengers. The bottom floor consists of two passenger holding areas, a passenger processing hall and a cargo processing bay with stationary inspection equipment. Logistics plans offices are located on the upper floor with windows that overlook the deployment control center. 30
