117th Air Refueling Wing Welcomes New Deputy Staff Judge Advocate Published Feb. 20, 2013 By Tech. Sgt. Laura Nelson 117th Air Refueling Wing Birmingham, Ala. -- The 117th Air Refueling Wing would like to welcome Capt. Carlissa Carson who has joined us as a deputy staff judge advocate. Carson comes to us from the 335th Signal Command Brigade in Atlanta, Ga. She brings with her nine years of military legal experience. She completed Army ROTC in 2005 at Georgia Institute of Technology. "I am thrilled to be here at the 117th," said Carson. She had intentions on separating from the military before the opportunity to join the Air National Guard as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate was presented to her. Some of her roles here in the legal office involve: ·Providing legal assistance for wills and power of attorneys ·Providing legal support to the wing commander ·Giving defense council to Airmen at the 187th Fighter Wing ·Advising commanders involving internal investigations Carson will expand her law experience as she settles in the legal office.
