BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-- The 117th Air Refueling Wing CBRNE Response Team participated in an exercise today as a way to test the ability to respond to a variety of potentially hazardous situations. Technical Sergeant Steve Gaunt, the 117th Civil Engineer Squadron Emergency Manager, was a key player in organizing the exercise. "The training that we performed today was a great opportunity for us to further develop our skills for potential hazmat situations, whether it's here on base or in our community that we live in. We found some weaknesses, of course, and we're going to work on those, but overall the training was outstanding," said Gaunt.
Members of the Hazardous Materials Team from Calhoun County were evaluating the event and provided valuable feedback.
