Chief Master Sergeant NATHAN J. FALLIN

Chief Master Sergeant Nathan J. Fallin serves as the seventh Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 117th Air Refueling Wing, Sumpter Smith Joint National Guard Base, Birmingham, Alabama Air National Guard. He is responsible for all affairs concerning the enlisted personnel of the 117 ARW.

Chief Fallin enlisted into the Alabama Air National Guard on 11 July 2001, as a crew chief in the 117th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron maintaining KC-135R aircraft. During this time, he had the opportunity to travel the globe supporting Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. In September 2004 he was hired as an AGR in AMXS. In June 2007 he left AMXS when he was selected as Engine Manager in the 117th Maintenance Operations Flight. His duties in that position were a combination of documenting engine data and performing Maintenance Scheduling duties. In 2012 he was selected for the Lead Scheduler position in the 117th MOF. His duties in that position allowed him to interact with organizations outside of maintenance and begin building relationships throughout the wing, particularly in Operations Group and Logistics Readiness Squadron.

Chief Fallin was one of the initial Wing Inspection Team members sworn in when the program was initiated. In this position he participated in numerous inspections including the 2018 Wing NORI. In March of 2018 Chief Fallin was selected to be the 117th Maintenance Operations Flight Superintendent officially taking over the position in June of that year.

In August 2020 Chief Fallin was appointed as Command Chief of the 117th ARW.
