Where to you want to be in five, ten or 15 years with respect to your ANG career? A lot of attention is being given lately to "having your squares filled" and being ready - NOW - to take on greater responsibilities. Unexpected opportunities come up sometimes with virtually no-notice, and you need to be ready to be a competitive candidate.

In the near future, the 117th will establish a Force Development Team (FDT) whose charter will be to assess each member's potential and deliberately plan a vector to promote and develop competencies to make the member an effective commissioned or non-commissioned officer and future ANG leader.

Whether you're an officer or enlisted member, there are tools available to help educate you on developing a plan and to help you reach your career goals. I encourage you to visit the ANG Force Development Website and explore these tools:

Below are a few examples of what you can find on this website. Obviously, not everyone will be able to fill every "square" in the scorecards. Some items are mandatory for the next rank (i.e. PME, CCAF degree for E-8/E-9, etc.). Your goal should be to fill as many as you can throughout your career.
